2-AMINOPYRIDINE neutralizes acids in exothermic reactions to form salts plus water. May be incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides. May generate hydrogen, a flammable gas, in combination with strong reducing agents such as hydrides. Reacts with oxidizing agents (NTP, 1992).|AMINOPYRIDINES are amines. Highly toxic, may cause epilepsy-like convulsions, toxic effects resemble strychnine poisoning. When heated to decomposition (over 200° C), it emits highly toxic fumes of oxides of nitrogen [Sax, 9th ed., p. 193].
